What a fiasco. Teresa Earnhardt gripes me. I think she is mentally unstable.
Maybe with Rudd retiring after this season, Junior can negotiate with Robert Yates for the number 88....

At the beginning of the season Yates tried getting #28 for Rudd, but Texaco still had some deal with it. If that is over and they can get that, they'd probably give over #88 pretty easily.
Or else Earnhardt could go for #6.8..... Dusty

I think it's better this way... He can further build his own identity, not an DEI identity. If he wins a cup in the 5 car, who will ever care that he drove the 8 for so long?

I think Yates would be good with the 28 and 38 if they could work it all out, then the 88 would work for Junior. Personally, I think the best thing that could happen to Junior is for him to distance himself from DEI as much as he can. Then he can focus himself toward his real goal(s), which should be winning the Championship. Were he still around, I really don't think Big E would be very happy with all this mess. If he was still alive, then maybe Teresa wouldn't be behaving as she is. If she did, then Big E would straighten her out....

I wish NA$CAR would do it like WoO cars, and all sprints and late models--Why not the 8a?or 8e?!
Just watched the ESPN story on the 8 situation, and they all seem so bummed by it too----WHat is wrong with Teresa? |

I really don't have a problem wit DEI holding on to the 8. Had Bill never drove the 9 again in his career would we really have cared who was in the 9? I just don't think a number defines a driver or vice versa.

Quote: There was some speculation about this. IIRC, they were discussing on ESPN that Regan Smith could get the 01 to himself for and Mark would split a ride in the 8 next year. If anyone could handle that spotlight, Mark could. I wonder how he and Teresa get along?? |

I told my dad that Dale Sr must still think he is racin' as fast as he is spinning in his grave (NO DISRESPECT MEANT). and I agree with Merlene that it is a shame this family has gone to heck in a hand basket since Sr passed.
Just a side note- my Savannah finally this past Saturday night told me why she will not watch races with my Dad and I any more. She was a Dale Sr fan and even though she was only 5 when he died, she was done with racing. Sure suprised me although I remember her watching that race with us and later when we told her Dale died; about 15 minutes later I found her hiding in her clothes closet sobbing her little heart out. Didn't know why until she told me. She will yell "Go Bill" or 'Go Kasey" when she walks through the room and the race is on. <!--EZCODE IMAGE START---<img src="http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/5356/image1lk1.gif"/><!--EZCODE IMAGE END---

Oh Scarlett, bless her heart. That's so sad---My mom was a huge E fan, and she couldn't watch a race without tearing up at all. I have been seeing the promos for the movie "Dale" on CMT and I get chills seeing him and Bill racing in the Winston-----Racing has never been the same since Earnhardt died.
As for Teresa, you'd think she would have her hands full with a younger man . I hear from some of my sources she is heavily involved with getting Steve Park a truck ride with DEI ties for next year, and she is "personally involved" with Park as well-----Things that make ya go hmmmm. |
