Just wanted to make everyone aware of a book that's coming out in February (8th I believe) that's about the 1979 Nascar Season, which in many ways was one of the most important Nascar seasons ever. The name of the book is "He Crashed Me So I Crashed Him Back," and was written by Sports Illustrated Senior Editor Mark Bechtel.

Since Bill is actually retired, why has the MPD not been named after him? Several years ago NASCAR said that after Bill retired the MPD would be named the Bill Elliott MPD in his honor.

Maybe this question has been asked lately, but I haven't seen anything about it. Does anyone know, or does Bill have to be completely gone from NASCAR for this to happen?

Here is the manufacturer rundown for the season, with a late charge winning the last three races the Fusion brand took home Ford's second consecutive title. Pontiac was able to overtake Honda in the final race.

Here are the standings without using the chase, it's a little bit closer it looks like regardless of how you tally it, the bottom line is mrgrand9 took care of business.
BillsIntrepidLady and jsome72 lost out by missing the chase, while awesome9ky made out golden by locking in a top 12 spot early.
